Dr. Tracy Scott

 

Dr. Tracy Scott is Founder and President of

Healthy Living Seminars and the radio broadcast

Wisdom for Joyous Living.  The former psychology intern and therapist of the Minirth Meier Clinic, Dr. Scott is a sought after speaker and he has authored several articles while providing counseling and leadership to many individuals, couples, families, ministries, churches and organizations.

 

Dr. Scott received his training in Christian counseling

while working for many years at the historic

Minirth Meier Clinic.  The Minirth Meier Clinic was

considered the "gold standard" in Christian counseling.  Many ministries today base their brand of care on the

Minirth Meier model.

 

Dr. Scott has an earned doctorate degree in clinical

psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology. 

He also completed post graduate education at the University of Chicago Health Studies Department; and a two year

post doctorate fellowship in clinical neuropsychology/behavioral medicine at Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital in Chicago Illinois. 

For the past 15 years, Dr. Scott has taught at several academic institutions including: Wheaton College, North Park University, Benedictine University and the Adler School of Professional Psychology.

 

In 2001, after a discussion with Dr. Henry Allen,

Dr. Scott sensed a need for a seminar, radio and

web based ministry that would address the needs of the underserved.  Dr. Scott envisioned a ministry based on

Luke 4:18, that helped people find balance in life,

while enhancing their relationship with Jesus Christ. 

This ministry would work to help free persons from the

chains of depression, racism, stress, health challenges and the broader issues involving individuals, families, churches and communities.

 

Dr. Scott is a seasoned seminar and conference

speaker and he has over 20 years of providing Christian

counseling.  Dr. Scott and his wife Denise have been married for more than 23 years.  They have two daughters, Dominique and Alexis.  The Scott's also have three exotic dogs, Sasha, Imani and Gemini and they enjoy their antics.  The Scott's believe

in responsible dog ownership and they use Jerry's K9 located in Phenix City Alabama for dog training.



 

Dr. Henry Allen

 

Henry Lee Allen is Vice-President of Healthy Living Seminars, Co-Host of Wisdom For Joyous Living Radio Broadcast and presently Associate Professor of Sociology in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Wheaton College . Dr. Allen was appointed to this academic position in August 1998. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree (with honors) in Biblical Studies from Wheaton College .

 

Professor Allen subsequently acquired masters and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Chicago . Hank has published numerous articles about sociology, ethnicity, and American higher education. A number of these publications examine the role of Christian faith in resolving key issues of concern to churches as well as the African-American community.

 

Through the years Dr. Allen has been involved with the National Education Association (NEA), providing them with in-depth sociological analysis of current issues in education.

 

Dr. Allen continues to work with several civic organizations that focus on promoting justice and facilitating discussion among African American leaders. He has served in urban churches, social service organizations, school districts, and criminal justice organizations.

 

He has been a regular pulpit speaker and biblical instructor in several cities. Outside of the academic environment, Dr. Allen loves to spend time with his wife Juliet and eight children. Some of his hobbies include football, astronomy, and Star Trek.
